Welcome to YAO's homepage
I’m a master candidate of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering in Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and my interests span the areas of computer vision with an emphasis on sparse coding, video analysis and Kinect's applications. My current efforts focus on low-rank and sparse representation in motion saliency detection and now I am seeking a PhD position that fits my interest and personality.
During 2010.10~2011.6, I worked in the student robot team of Xi'an Jiaotong University for ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2011, mainly focused on designing algorithms for robot's target detection. This experience made me find my interest and passion in computer vision. From then on, I joined in a smart robot project and finished software with Kinect's technologies. This project aims to give users a new experience to control robot. It won the First Prize (1st out of 530 teams) in Microsoft Student Challenge which was held by Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in April 2012.
